Tactics of the
Ancient Siege

Everything you need to conquer every fortress in Pharaoh's Strike — from your first shot to mastering the Power Forge.

Chapter 01

Quick Start

1

Download & Launch

Install from Google Play and launch Pharaoh's Strike. The tutorial fortress walks you through the aiming controls.

2

Aim & Fire

Drag back on the catapult arm to set power. Slide left/right to adjust angle. Release to launch. Watch the trajectory arc.

3

Earn & Upgrade

Stars and rubies are awarded per level. Spend them in the Power Forge to upgrade your arsenal before harder levels.

New player tip: Don't spend rubies on your first 10 levels. The tutorial levels are completable without upgrades. Save your resources for Levels 15–25 where fortresses gain reinforced stone walls.

Chapter 02

Catapult Mechanics

The Drag System

Pull Distance = Power

The further you drag the arm back, the more energy transfers to the projectile. Full pull delivers ~40% more range than a half-pull.

Angle Determines Arc

Swipe left to raise the firing angle (lofted shots, great for clearing walls) or right to lower it (flat shots, hit lower structural joints directly).

The Trajectory Ghost

A dotted trajectory line appears as you aim. At higher Power Forge levels, this line extends further — letting you plan chain-collapse shots.

Physics Fundamentals

Structural Weak Points

Every fortress has joints marked by darker mortar lines. Hitting these directly causes chain-collapse — one shot can bring down an entire tower section.

Material Differences

Sand blocks: shatter immediately. Limestone: requires 2 hits. Granite: use explosive projectiles. Gold-capped blocks: purely cosmetic, same HP as limestone.

Bounce Physics

Boulders and stone balls bounce off hard surfaces. You can use this to hit targets behind cover. The Energy Arc weapon has extended bounce range.

Weapons Arsenal

All 7 projectile types — damage ratings, best uses, and upgrade priority.

Stone Ball

Standard projectile · Unlocked from start

Common

The workhorse of your siege. Reliable physics, consistent bounce. Best for targeting weak joints and chain-collapses on sand/limestone structures.

Damage6 / 10
Area Effect0 / 10
Penetration4 / 10

Fire Jar

Incendiary · Unlocked at Level 8

Rare

Shatters on impact, spreading fire across adjacent blocks. Essential for wooden structures and clearing catapult-proof barricades. Avoid using against stone towers — wasted on fireproof blocks.

Damage5 / 10
Area Effect8 / 10
Penetration1 / 10

Horus Bolt

Precision · Unlocked at Level 15

Rare

Narrow, fast bolt with extreme penetration. Passes through up to 3 blocks in a straight line. Best for destroying tall towers — aim for the base and let it pierce upward through the column.

Damage7 / 10
Area Effect1 / 10
Penetration9 / 10

Desert Storm

Explosive · Unlocked at Level 20

Epic

Large explosive charge with wide blast radius. Deals massive damage to nearby blocks on detonation. Ideal for clearing crowded mid-sections. Overkill on small towers — use for dense wall complexes only.

Damage9 / 10
Area Effect9 / 10
Penetration2 / 10

Scarab Swarm

Scatter · Unlocked at Level 28

Epic

Splits into 5 smaller projectiles mid-flight, each dealing moderate damage. Best used at a low, flat angle against wide walls — let the spread cover a broad horizontal section simultaneously.

Damage6 / 10 ×5
Area Effect7 / 10
Penetration2 / 10

Anubis Anchor

Gravity · Unlocked at Level 35

Epic

Heavy mass that creates a brief gravity pulse on impact, pulling surrounding blocks inward then releasing them. Spectacular for toppling columns sideways. Requires precise aim at structural mid-points.

Damage7 / 10
Area Effect8 / 10
Penetration5 / 10

Energy Arc

Legendary · Unlocked via Power Forge — Max Level required

Legendary

The ultimate siege weapon. Fires a concentrated arc of electromagnetic energy that chains between conductive blocks, dealing full damage to each one it jumps to. Range increases with each Power Forge level.

Best used against densely packed high-value fortresses in Zones 4 and 5. A single shot can chain through 8–12 blocks, making it the highest theoretical damage-per-shot in the game by a wide margin.

Chapter 04

Power Forge Strategy

Rubies are your most precious resource. Here's the optimal upgrade order for players at each stage.

Recommended Priority Order

1

Trajectory Extender

(Levels 1–5)

Extends the trajectory ghost line. More visibility = fewer wasted shots. The single highest-impact early upgrade — it makes every other weapon more accurate.

2

Stone Ball — Core Reinforcement

(Levels 1–3)

Increases Stone Ball mass and damage. You'll use this weapon 60% of the time in early zones. Getting it to Level 3 before moving to specialty weapons is efficient resource use.

3

Catapult Power — Phase I

(Level 1 only)

One level of Catapult Power gives a meaningful range bonus. Don't go beyond Level 1 until you've unlocked Fire Jar and Horus Bolt — range matters less than accuracy early.

4

Fire Jar — Combustion Grade

(After Level 8)

Once you hit Zone 2 (mixed material fortresses), Fire Jar upgrades pay immediate dividends. Combustion Grade widens the fire spread significantly — worth 2 ruby levels.

Energy Arc — Final Goal

(End-game)

Save 200+ rubies for the Energy Arc unlock and first upgrade. Do not buy this before Zone 3 — you won't have targets dense enough to use its chain mechanic effectively. Patience here pays off enormously.

What NOT to upgrade first

  • ✗ Scarab Swarm before Zone 3 — the scatter pattern is hard to control without precision upgrades
  • ✗ Anubis Anchor before Level 30 — gravity physics become unpredictable in low-density fortresses
  • ✗ Catapult Power beyond Level 2 — diminishing returns after +20% range bonus

Ruby farming tips

  • ★ 3-star a level you've already cleared for ruby bonuses
  • ★ Complete bonus challenges in each Zone for extra ruby rewards
  • ★ Daily login streak gives rubies each day, with a bonus on day 7
Chapter 05

Advanced Tips & Tactics

Zone-by-Zone Strategy

Zone 1 — Nile Delta: Pure sand construction. Stone Ball is sufficient for every level. Focus on 3-starring for ruby income, not efficiency.
Zone 2 — Desert Road: Mixed sand/limestone. Introduce Fire Jar for wooden barricades. Target structural bases first — these levels are tall but narrow.
Zone 3 — Limestone Quarry: All stone. Horus Bolt becomes your primary weapon. Aim for vertical columns; the piercing lets one bolt drop an entire tower.
Zone 4 — Temple Complex: Dense mixed construction. Desert Storm clears wide wall sections. Save Energy Arc for the boss-level fortresses at Zone 4 end.
Zone 5 — Pharaoh's Vault: Granite reinforced. Energy Arc chains between metal reinforcements for massive damage. Patience and Anubis Anchor for the final structures.

Chain-Collapse Mastery

Look for the Domino Setup

A tower next to another tower = chain collapse potential. Hit the base of the first tower to topple it into the second. One shot, two towers.

The Lever Shot

Aim for the side of a supported column at 45°. The rotational force tips the structure rather than shattering it — the whole column can fall intact onto adjacent structures.

Clearing the Cap Last

Many levels have a gold-capped pyramid block as the final target. Remove all supporting blocks first. When support is gone, the cap falls by itself — no wasted shot.

Quick Reference: Common Mistakes

Spending all ammo on top blocks

Destroy from the base. Top blocks fall for free when support is gone.

Using explosives on sparse targets

Desert Storm needs 3+ adjacent blocks to be efficient. Don't waste it on single columns.

Ignoring material type

A Fire Jar on granite deals zero extra damage. Always identify the construction material before choosing your weapon.

Chapter 06

Guide FAQ

Is there a level cap?

The current version has 50+ levels across 5 zones. New levels are added in content updates every 4–6 weeks. The game does not have a hard cap — Zone 5 boss levels are replayable indefinitely.

Can I re-play levels I've already beaten?

Yes. All completed levels can be re-played. 3-starring a level you previously 2-starred gives a ruby bonus. There's no penalty for replaying — use it to farm and practice chain-collapse techniques.

I'm stuck on a level. What should I try first?

1) Check if there's a weak structural joint you've been missing. 2) Swap to a different weapon for the material type. 3) Upgrade the Trajectory Extender — better visibility changes everything. 4) Try a different firing angle entirely (try 60°+ lofted shots if flat shots aren't working).

Does the Energy Arc work on all structure types?

Energy Arc chains between any blocks that are adjacent or nearly adjacent. It does not chain across gaps wider than 1 block unit. Granite blocks are fully vulnerable — Energy Arc is actually the most effective weapon against granite due to chain penetration bypassing armor ratings.
